maximum wheel spacers
« on: September 30, 2020, 04:12:22 pm »
On a series 4 turismo with normal 17 inch wheels what would be the maximum size you could fit without any problems ie if the car went over a speed bump or fully loaded. I have looked through posts and not clear in my mind. I want it to look nice but not to have any problems. Also do you need to do anything else to the car tracking etc. I am pretty good at parking and wondered if you have a tendency to kerb the wheels when done

    I went with this kit:
    https://www.google.co.uk/product/9976
It actually came with 16mm rears as they didnt have the the 15mm in stock.
Spoke to them and they advised in conjunction with lowering springs 13 front & 16 rear is probably the max i could go without having any issues.
I've had 4 adults in the car and with this sort of weight you do get some rubbing at the rear over bumps. I think its the wheel hitting the small plastic trim (excuse for a sprayguard) mounted to the rear of the wheel arch.
I'm happy to live with this as tbh 90% of the time its just me and the missus in the car. TBH the car does have a really nice stance now!

No problems with kerbing as a result of the spacers, just my wife's bad driving

Thank you that sounds great I could not get the link to work. I wasn't planning to do the springs yet.

Not sure on the turismo...on the comp 10mm is enough once it’s lowered imo. I’d definitely lower it before spacers as more noticeable of a change and might decide you don’t need the spacers.
