Boosting too high, help!
« on: June 08, 2014, 12:29:44 am »
Hi guys,

Needs some help please, cars had the angel map, BMC filter and straight though exhaust and was fine for 6-7 months plus, now all of a sudden it's boosting to 1.5 bar sometimes even too the end of the gauge at 1.6 bar,  anybody got any idea's what it could be? Would be more than helpful for feedback.

Cheers!

    Hi,
Have you checked all the pipe work to and from the turbo?
As I found out with my car Over boosting can be caused by a leak or kink in one of the small vacumn hoses.
Iirc unless you have a proper mechanical/vacumn boost gauge I believe the remap causes false boost info on the stick gauge.

    Hi there,

Had a flick over them earlier and looked all fine, normally goes too 1.2 ish normally or the gauge but tonight was going right too the end and earlier in the day it was acting really strange and getting flat spots but now it's boosting like mad! Just scared it's going too blow!

    Cheers

Hi, my car started doing exactly the same in 5th gear only. I run a tmc remap, forge actuator and direct induction and a cell 200. Usually boost up to 1.2/1.3. Now 1.4 easily and even 1.6!! Don't want to brake it! Could it hurt even if for a few seconds only? Thanks.

So my Auto Italia found the solution immediately. The membrane of my whole new Forge actuator is cracked!! We opened it and there were small pieces of metal inside that cut it!! Very disappointed by Forge!

send it back, Forge have a "no hassle" lifetime warranty i believe. makes me glad i never fitted mine, sold it and got a blue spark box instead :)
