O.Z Leggenda
« on: June 06, 2011, 10:55:11 pm »
As a noob I hope I haven't gotten out of turn here already, but I looked and looked and couldn't for the life of me find any reference to the O.Z Leggenda in these pages :o. I would have thought they'd have been biggish news.

What's an O.Z Leggenda? Well, you could Google it or you could just scroll to the top of the page - but for the scorpion logo they appear to be an exact replica. And I know this because I'm sitting in my living room looking at four of them right now.  Boootiful 8)! That's right, four street legal Assetto Corse wheels.  Now all I need to do is find somebody I can trust to fit tyres without damaging that precious white paint...!

PS - 7.9kg on my scales  :thumb:

Look nice but still heavier than the Alleggeritas.
As Keith Richards tells it, Jones came up with the name "The Rollin' Stones" (later with the 'g') while on the phone with a venue owner. "The voice on the other end of the line obviously said, 'What are you called?' Panic. The Best of Muddy Waters album was lying on the floor—and track one was 'Rollin' Stone Blues'".

Those wheels are awesome.  Post a pic when they're on.

Thought somebody might have mentioned these before, they are pretty close to the AC wheels. Are they new out then?

Would love some of these bad boys.

Where are the pictures and how much ?

Does anyone wanna buy a lovely set of 10 spokes?
Now that I'm a grown up I drive a sensible grey 595 Competizione with grey leather sabelt seats and yellow brake calipers. It's jolly nice! It's got a name - ' Razzogrigio' Now with a custom S/S group N style exhaust, black Esseesse wheels and a GTT induction kit, all sitting on Eibach springs.

I have part worn Toyo T1Rs on them. Want to sell to get some O.Z Leggendas! I paid £1500 including tyres. (They're very light!) Obviously I'd sell them at much less than that. PM me with an offer if you're interested...

They will be going on classifieds soon...

I always wanted the O.Z wheels that were on the Assetto Corse race car (banner at top of page). The Alleggeritas were the nearest thing, as the racing wheels weren't certified for road use. Now O.Z have released a road going version of the wheel (the Leggenda) that I wanted all along!

OK guys to capture/answer your questions briefly:

I think they probably first surfaced with little fanfare in late March; that seems to be when first mutterings appeared at least.  TBH I don't have them cos I'm well informed - more to do with them starting to appear at UK retailers just at the time I started looking to upgrade a few weeks back.

They did indeed come through performancealloysdotcom.  Best price and top service to boot, but easier to talk to them than rely on their flaky website.  I say "through" because they were actually sent direct from Italy.

They do need wobblys but so long as you're clear about what car they're for O.Z will include the right bolts and 'rings (FoC).

Pictures? Well they're not on the car yet! But I did have the tyres put on very carefully today by an independent specialist in Gloucester (Chris Mullins) who did a top job and even filled them with nitrogen (a la GTR!).  I'll post a proper pic at the weekend when they're on the car but hopefully this will give you some idea of what they look like "in real life".  And no, the wife isn't best pleased ;)
