I now have these in hand and will be fitted tomorrow.

100mm drop won't happen because A, your car won't go that low without the driveshaft popping out, B, you may need a chaisis notch..

These do infact come with new rear bumpstops and but they don't appear to fit in any way...

As I am off work for the next few days I am going to get mine sealed with a ceramic coating (gtechniq) and protect them ready for winter.

Pics should follow Saturday once they are on(no issues mind)

    cheers.

Hey Johnny, did you order after seeing my post or have them already? Gutted yours have arrived as mine have just been dispatched (I'm at work so will expect to pick up tonight).

It's so good hearing lols at 100mm drops when the VW and BMW scene have been doing it for years and people laughed at them initially. My mate has a mk3 Gold -110mm. Now this is the standard for all track DE cars. Obviously the size of the rims/arches are a concern, but I'm going to see how low we can go in London, bearing in mind the road conditions are terrible, but this will keep my speed down. Especially as I'm sure we're all agreed the ride height of Fiat 500s is abnormally high haha and even 40-50mm drop as you would normally expect a set of springs sort, would suffice!

My car is kept in a secure underground car park in central London so coating/winter proofing not such an issue. Especially for £150 quid or so...  :thumb:

    Hey,

I ordered mine on Monday at around 11pm and they came on Wednesday at around 9.20am...

Mine should be on tomorrow mid afternoon, weather permitting. I have the 595 17s currently so I should see a good 40-50mm drop with comfort still being kept.

My car just doesn't feel right in cornering it just seams to slide and have no grip at the front at all for some odd reason. I hope this will fix it to an extent lol.

Indeed the bag boys have been doing for a while, if you manage 100mm and it goes well then bravo. But after speaking with a couple of lads at work (I work for fiat) 100mm will break shizzzz lol. But we shall see.

Will keep posted on updates too.

I know fine well cars are out there that are "ridiculous lowz" but lets face it without serious work you will not be able to wind it down 100mm right away. I doubt the bumper is even 100mm off the ground on a standard setup! Plus then the driveshafts will sit at a stupid angle which will eventually kill the box as lets face it the standard box has failed numerous times in the past without being strained.

Either way, even if you do get it down 100mm it will handle rubbish.

Full on like this post, 100% true.

chaisis notch will be needed and yes the box will die quickly.

Just a quick question but how would lowering damage the gearbox
Unless u mean it would bottom out and hit things
As surely at inner and outer cv joints would be taking the punishment
    And not the box ???

Because the drive shafts will be sat at a ridiculous angle. Where as standard they are generally sat level. When they are at a harsh angle they will put strain on the box. It might survive a while but if it is "wound right down"  it will eventually cause issues.

Plus the bottom line is it will handle awful and be all over the road.

But the angle is delt with in and outer cv joints
Surely the would wear out and not the box ???

It's all guesswork. No one in the UK has ever dropped their Abarth to these lows. Excuse the pun

    Well update time.

The rears are on the deck with the adjusters removed.
Fronts are 3/4 down and same level as rears. Due to the 17" s that will do. I shall post the pictures tomorrow.

Took an hour to fit and very very easy setup too.

    Cheers.

FK coilovers for Fiat 500 Abarth.

I've been looking at these for a few weeks now after a trip to Berlin and searching the German tuning sites. Usually I'd steer clear of cheap parts but German manfacturing rules are so high I'd be inclined to try these. Anyone invested in them already?
