Rolling road results for a A500.
« on: June 17, 2009, 11:48:32 am »
A copy of a post directly from a guy on Fiat Forum who rolling roaded his standard A500 and got the following results:
---------------
We put the good ladies car on the rollers yesterday out of interest.
The cars done 4000 miles so should have loosened up a bit.

We did 2 runs & the graphs on both were virtually identical

Results as follows

139.3 bhp @ 5435 rpm 199Nm @ 2087 rpm
139.8 bhp @ 5525 rpm 202Nm @ 2076 rpm

I was impressed how low down the rev range it hit max torque & held that sort of figure up to 5500, excellent for small petrol car, probably helps to explain why the car is just so easy to drive quickly. Abarth have done a cracking job

Unfortunately I dont have a scanner or I would post the graph

I would be interested to see if anyone has the figures for a car with the esseesse kit, Im assuming it will be around 170 but wondered what torque is achieved. This would also be helpful to anyone remapping a car as its probably unwise to exceed the torque on the esseesse.
Abarth are happy to warranty this & after all its torque that kills transmissions & clutches, not bhp
-------------------------

I have given him the link to join here so hopefully he will.

MCS was about 210nm torgue so it was pleasing to see that the A500 isnt far behind that .... makes driving fun  ;D

It is interesting that the torque is slightly lower than the official figures but comes in much earlier than they say. I presume that is peak torque @ revs
