I went to the Dynodaze event yesterday, and should have ask this while I was there. On my runs I notice the sport button had not been used, and they were good enough to do a 3rd run. Now for my question. The Bhp stayed constant at 152, but the torque went up a lot, from 185 to 202 ft-lb( 270 Nm in new money.) does this mean I have a lot of torque(average for ss 170 ft-lb) Can any of you tech guys explain these figures in simple form, and the advantage of the extra torque.
May I add on my first event you all very welcoming and friendly and great to see other Abarths. :thumb: :thumb:

I know I should appear before the Abarth court of sport mode rights, but my only defence is I am old. I regularly get beaten with a wet tea towel by 'her indoors' for pressing sport mode while she is in the car and frightening the life out of her.
So all I can do is bow my head in shame. >:( :thumbd:

Torque is a force that produces rotation, so the more torque that is available the quicker the wheel is rotated. This increases the rate of acceleration. It has been suggested in non sport mode, the reduction in torque and maybe reduction in fuel consumption, helps in achieving a lower overall emissions figure for the car.
It was felt that the dyno on the day was maybe not as optimistic as other dynos or under read. As a one off, of measuring power, the figures should not be taken too seriously, if they are in the round about region of where they should be.

Sounds to me like you are reading Nm Figures as ft-lb....

But I see you have an SS Abarth, so torque should be around 230Nm.

Not sure whats going on there, perhaps posting a copy of the readout would help?
