Xenon Headlamps?
« on: May 20, 2009, 04:50:05 pm »
Someone posted pics of this lowered white Abarth a while back and fell head over heels for it. On closer inspection though, it's clear to see the car has Xenon headlamps.

It also appears the have little LED's.

I thought that Abarth didn't come with Xenon headlamps?

My questions is, is there a Xenon kit out there?

This kit showed up on FF the other day generally thought to look bleeding awful unless your an utter carpark kid.

Oh yeah link to utter tastelessness : http://www.stxstyling.co.uk/StxStyling/Cars/showit.php?pnum=7537

I think they look mint myself, the bonnets that give this effect look garbage but the LED's are subtle. The lens type light looks like Xenon's, so does that mean the headlights are actually Xenon, seeing as the foglight may just be fooling us into looking like Xenon's, although in saying that, the blue tinge is very visible on the ground.

That isn't a fog light, on the 500 that is the DRL and mainbeam light I would suspect they just stuck in some blue light upgrade bulbs in there. As to why that peculiar blue beam is so far out of wack from the dipped light unit you have to assume the person who did it has monkied around with the beam pattern to do that. Should imagine for the UK that would be a MOT failure of epic proportions along with major taste fail.

As to the slanty eyed LEDs, well we don't have a vomit icon  ::) (we do now  :puke: )

    This will do though

It's a left hand drive car so isn't the beam meant to face that way.

I see I am going to have to defend these LED's. They look good...IMO of course.

Actually looking at it the blue light on the floor must be from another source, you can see the flare at the top of the picture and there isnt a similar beam for the other side

At the very right of the pic you can see the beginnings of the other beam also.

Hmmm...canton of Zurich licence plate and having lived in Switzerland I can vouch that the Swiss are not style leaders in general ;D

Bossa Nova, stripeless, Bilsteins, Skydome, custom high gloss black roof and B-pillars, leather, climate, chrome mirrors, BMC air filter, Angel remap

BiXens have been announced as an option for the 500c in Italy along with the fact they will also get the revised suspension beam at the rear. Have no idea how that would work given the dips and mains are in different housings on the 500.

That's strange then, maybe a slight upgrade to the 2010 model year will give that option to us too.
