How / where is an Abarth made.
« on: November 04, 2010, 09:04:34 am »
Been trying to find this information, but searches did not show what I was looking for. So possibly a link to an existing "sticky" or anything else would be appreciated.  :thumb:

Fairly basic question - where are they made? How close is the relation to a Fiat 500, how many components are shared. In other words, is it a Fiat 500 that goes from the Fiat factory and gets the Abarth treatment afterwards or is the seperation earlier in its life?

Just trying to get the full picture in my head as I know people will ask me when I collect the car.

500 is made in the Tichy plant in Poland, that also builds Fiat 500 and Ford Ka.

Your A500c is made in the Fiat factory in Poland but assembled by Abarth technicians.
It does share a fair amount of Fiat parts but I think its around 35% of the car is specific to Abarth :thumb:

They work oposite each other I thought?

I'm sure theres a promo clip somewhere that shows the Abarth 500 / Fiat 500 / Ford KA running alongside each other on seperate tracks in the same building.

Or did I just make that up?

What about the Abarth GP and Evo? Also in Poland or in Turin as I previously thought?

Panda, Ka and 500 are all built on the same line, there are no specific "Abarth" employees in the Polish plant.
