0 - 60 mph test results
« on: September 27, 2010, 08:43:01 pm »
Our essesay has now got 17k on the clock so i thought I would hook it up to my race technology timing gear .

Hear are the results :

Dry flat road 16 deg c

Run 1 : 7.38 sec with a poor start

Run 2 with TTC on : 7.81 sec as it cut the power & bogged

Run 3 : 7.01 sec better start

Run 4 with a touch of wheel spin : 6.76 sec

the car had a full tank of fuel, with less fuel a small improvement could be had

Good results  :thumb: I would expect a TMC'd A500 to produce very similar times. They are always quicker than the claimed figures, when EVO magazine tested the A500 SS, they got a 0-60 time of 6.9 seconds, half a second quicker then the official time, and yours is obviously better still.

That was using michelin tyres ss rims , tried using the pirellis on our other wheels but kept spinning up last week.

Alot of it is down to the road surface I guess .

But the quickest ever 0 - 60 on  my timing gear was 3.81 sec's LOL but that was one of my other cars

I've just had x4 BF Goodrich fitted. Feel better than the Pirellis (which were very spinny) but are a little rumbley when cold. Might have to borrow a VI monitor and get some times of my own soon! How accurate are the VIM's does anybody know?

Best I got was a 6.8 using rally slicks on a track event, I've had 7 seconds dead quite a few times using normal road tyres on a flat stretch of road, aswell as just over 7 quite often, I dont think I've ever taken longer than the 7.4 they say the esseesse takes to get 60

Surly the more they spin the smaller the tyres get so the quicker the speedo reads 60  ;D
