18k service
« on: July 07, 2012, 07:37:42 pm »
Hiya

Anyone got any advice on roughly how much I should expect to pay for an 18k service on a standard a500?

Cheers
Lisa

I paid £428 inc VAT at Monza Sport in the end. This was for an A500SS.

I was quoted well over £500 at the two nearest main dealers.

I was quoted around £430 at an Abarth dealership. Car only had 8k on the clock at the time. I took it elsewhere  :thumb:

I did the same calls on Friday - for my 18k service. Technically i need my brake fluid changed too, as its coming up to 2 years.

Glyn Hopkin Romford - £464 (no brake fluid - told me i didnt need it until 32k - WRONG!!) kept explaining - gave up - Romford annoy me when they dont answer the phone, and generally annoy me more when they do...

Thames Slough - £454 service and £68 fluid change

Lipscomb - £395 service and £65 fluid change

So i've gone with Lipscomb - again! always seem to be slightly cheaper - plus Lotus are there, so i may drive out in one of them and leave the Abarth there... not decided yet.

    OR

Go to ****** - and they charge £318 including fluid change - as they do fluid change with every service. - plus as they're a lot cheaper, you can justify a remap/brake/exhaust upgrade...

According to the invoice in my service history they charged £386.

From what I can see, they never changed the oil, or the spark plugs, even though they charged for them.

I done a proper service yesterday, and the parts etc cost me £125.

Now at least I know the job has been done properly.

Plugs, all filters and oil too.  I've had mine done there since new. Cannot fault the service  :)
