284mm or 305mm brembo front rotors
« on: January 06, 2021, 04:45:07 pm »
Hi, anyone knows the size of the rotors of the abarth 595 competizione 2017 179hp??
When I try to buy online discs it only gives the choice of the 305mm 2 discs float brembo, (200 euros each)  but some says that it comes stock with 284mm in the front and 240mm at the rear.
Anyone knows ?

Do you have single pot sliding calipers or 4 pot fixed calipers?

If you have the Brembo 4 pot fixed caliper and floating disc then yes they are expensive compared to solid one piece disc

I wonder if the 2 piece floating disc can be replaced with the solid disc?  :thumb:

When I look at my discs on my abarth they have nothing to do with the floating discs, floating discs have this metal plates with screws all around the discs, mine look like normal discs with holes that’s it, actually the floating discs look like carbon ceramic brakes, I emailed abarth gave them my VIN number let see what they tell me.

Seems like you have the solid disc anyway.

    Do they measure 305mm?

As you have done, send abarth your vin and they will source correct part. It can get even more expensive should you get the wrong part.
Saying that if you are confident enough take existing off measure all (vented? / width? / diameter?/ setback) and order.

Thanks to all, I got the car since December 2020 so I’m not sure about the discs size, and now it’s snowing in Munich I’m not really willing to take the wheels off and measure the rotor, I will wait for abarth to answer me, but I really doubt that my car only takes the floating brembo discs, I hope not cause they’re expensive, but as I do only 7000 km a year if I have to they will last very long.

As your car is 2017, please be aware that the official Abarth Brembo upgrade kit could have been fitted, since new, replacing the possibly original sliding caliper.

So the vin may not show the upgrade if fitted.

If you have the floating discs, then buy the floating discs again. They are not expensive for what they are and any unsprung weight that you can shave off is good. Solid discs will add unsprung weight and that is bad in any form or way for a sports car.

This is what the floating disc look like and you should be able to see if that is the one you have on your car.

If it is, then it is 305. I have not seen solid discs in 305.

Front discs on my computer need changing. It’s a 2017 car - the discs are not floating 2 piece discs.

Has the proper Brembo set up - iirc, only the pre 2017 brembo cars and the Biposto had floating discs.

Info from garages and the internet is conflicting over the correct replacement.

@695C, mine are not floating discs I’m pretty sure but if they were I would have no problem to replace them with originals, my problem is my I try to purschase discs with the model of my car the website suggested me only the floating from brembo and mine don’t look like floating, aftermarket it recommends me discs that are 284mm, so I’m confused, I’m still waiting for abarth answer.
