Title: 500 Abarth on Top gear

The 500 Abarth will be reviewed on the new series of Top Gear up against the Twingo RS I believe, for anyone who watched the first episode tonight would have cought a glimpse of it the the series preview compilation at the beginning.
Heard it will be on next weeks show, should be interesting!

Could be interesting, Top Gear did not really rate the 500, but Fiats marketing manageress, who is Italain, gave them a diesel to test!!!! She didn't understand that diesel is the scurge of all petrol heads. I really can't see that the twingo is going to stand up to the build quality of the 500 (magicmole, dont beat me up again!!!) If the 500 drives anything like the G.P., it should kick ass ;D

I also caught a glimpse of it, very excited, will be nice to see it on the tv.
You always need to take TG's 'reviews' with a huge pinch of salt though, they never let the facts get in the way of attempting to make a piece more interesting.

didnt think they gave it a fair chance, couldnt believe it when james may said the diesel engine is awful.
dont normally find him funny but it made me laugh when he said the point of owning a fiat is to buy one wth a small engine then rev it until the valves get out and dance on top of the bonnet! :o ;D

Looks like someone didn't ask Abarth about the esseesse kit contents.
esseesse Abarth with combined 40.9mpg (although that may be Abarths figure) is quite amusing.

Worse than that - it means they didn't even bother reading the press pack they were issued on the way to the bar.

I've never credited Top Gear magazine with much journalistic talent, stick with the professionals. :)

More like they got some photos from elsewhere and made up a review. It wouldn't suprise me with that magazine.

Really looking forward to tonights episode, while I don't care what they say about it it'll be nice to see footage of it that's NOT a YouTube video, as good as they are.

being a, well an ex elise (from today!) owner im going to defend it! - the track was really wet when the elise went round! still very impressive ;D the 500 looked cool as well

there was a 'thing' about that! clarkson never put it on. vid is somewhere on youtube.

I think the review was pretty good considering Fiats aren't normally respected on TG. Goes to show that the brand is extremely lucky to have the Abarth name and this should help them gain a the respect they deserve!!
I've got a feeling these 500 Abarths are gonna sell like hot cakes ;)

Both my e-mail account and phone have been going non stop this morning. Unusual for Clarkson not to be scathing! He was singing its praises and I was waiting for him to say BUT, but he didn't ;D

Figured you and most dealers would get busy to day, its amazing how Top Gear has such an effect just due to Clarksons (often off kilter) remarks about cars.
