595 20 plate monza exhaust valve
« on: April 24, 2020, 10:10:39 pm »
I have watched hundreds of videos, read all through this forum and looked for images and can’t for the life of it find the valve on my monza exhaust!... it doesn’t seem to be where it is telling me it is located. The valve keeps getting stuck and I want to remove the spring so it remains open. If anyone could give me a hand or any tips on finding it on the new Abarth competizione 2020 I would really appreciate it

    The Monza was changed.

Original version was mild steel, painted black and had the spring.  The 2015 Comp 180 introduced the partially stainless version, which still has a stick spring.  These are located near the rear left wheel.  The pipe bends up behind the back box and its under there. https://www.abarthcars.co.uk/content/dam/abarth/kit/Kit_Sistema_scarico_Record_Monza.jpg (just above the A on the box)

When the adrenaline green was introduced, September '18 IIRC, the Monza was changed to an "Active" version.  It no longer operates via back pressure but works in conjunction with the Sport button.  I think it works via a solenoid and a vacuum line in the same way the Akrapovic does.  I haven't had one so I'm not 100%, but I'd imagine the logical place for it would be in the same area as you need the exhaust to split/ have the valve before the backbox to enable it to bypass it as seen here https://www.akrapovic.com/en/car/product/75/Abarth/500-500C/2017/Slip-On-Line-SS?brandId=13&modelId=7&yearId=4672

The original Monza and stainless were made by Magnetti Marelli, my stainless one had a it marked on a section of pipe.  I wouldn't be suprised if Akrapovic had a hand in the new version based on the higher spec models having them installed.
