did my front nearside a mere 2 weeks after owning trying to park against a kerb. only like a two inch scrape but like you, couldnt bear to look at it. i only like touched the kerb as well, so was very surprised.
but i got it repaired for £65 inc vat and they did a fantastic job, good as new. if the car had been older i might not have bothered - we all get nicks, dents eventually - but i would advise you to get it fixed if you can afford it as it will be in your mind too much otherwise and will spoil your enjoyment of your car.
it probably does look worse to you than others (everyone i showed said it wasnt really noticeable) but that doesnt help your state of mind!!!
now i dont take any chances and leave the car miles from the kerb if im not sure, or even open the drivers door and look out like a learner if im parking on the right hand side.
another point worth mentioning that the wheel repair place told me is that these alloys are real soft by any standards - so the slightest touch WILL scrape them (as i found!). they were surprised the car hadnt had rim protector tyres put on it with the way the wheels protrude out and advised me to get some put on when the tyres were worn down.
so to sum up - dont worry about it, get it repaired, and then you'll be a lot more careful in the future i guarantee it!!
