I can recommend Admiral. Premium was about £330 protected NCD, fairly low excess (£250 i think), plus I saved an extra £100 off my other cars insurance as I used their new multi-car policy. I'm hoping that they will allow me to add another car to it later so that I can hang on to the 500..
    A500 launch edition, considering esseesse..

A bit of insurance feedback. My second best quote was £610, with my sister on, £500 excess and 4 years no claims as a named driver, from Direct Line.

In the end, I got £400 with Elephant. This came down from an initial quote of £586 for just myself. I added my parents, which reduced the premium. Interestingly, the biggest decrease to premium resulted from adding my older sisters, which dropped the price to £430.

The most interesting thing was that I was asked if I co-habit with my girlfriend. When I confirmed that I had been seeing her for more than 6 months, it reduced the premium by another £30.

Hopefully that helps with your search.

???  Insurance companies clearly work in very mysterious ways.  Did you try adding your Grandparents?

I would have tried, but I am unaware of an insurance company that quotes for those who have shuffled their mortal coil...

Mysteerious ways indeed. The random permutation approach was quite fun to find the ultimate combo.

Research put me on to a free week of insurance with a Norwich Union cover note.  You only have to get a quote.  Handy for a crossover week selling the old car.

0800 0151392; you need a dealer reference number.

As it happens I'm already with NU and I'd have to beat £325 to bother switching.  38, protected full ncb, 6 points 2005, wife 2nd driver, £320xs, courtesy car.

My free week starts on the 8th... :P

I tried to get that free weeks insurance, they wouldn't insure me due to age (said i had to be 28 or over!) So tried to transfer my insurance to NU, had to be 25 or over.....new policy with Admiral in the end!
