Title: Driveshafts
Post by: BiAS on September 23, 2020, 07:22:09 pm
Hi, I've had a search and found a lot of previous threads about driveshafts but couldn't find a definite answer, sooooo....
Are all the 5 gear driveshafts interchangeable?
The wife's Esseesse is an earlier one, there seem to be an early type and a later type but I can't figure if they're interchangeable. If I've read correctly the 6 gear 'shafts are different and not compatible.
If anybody has any clues I'd be most appreciative
Cheers :thumb:

Abarth did not fit a 6 speed gearbox to the 500.

They are all 5 speed.

Abarth did not fit a 6 speed gearbox to the 500.

They are all 5 speed.

In that case are all the 500s and 595s with a 5 speed fitted with the same C510 gearbox?
Does this mean that all the driveshafts are interchangeable?

According to
https://www.shop4parts.co.uk/?name=store&op=Product&ProdID=23768&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqrb7BRDlARIsACwGad4uw9SiiM8vom_o0SBPYMm0iSIEyHfGD7t60lgh17-00h0TsG7FWfoaAvdxEALw_wcB
there is one fit for all years.

Maybe worth asking them to confirm. :thumb:

Hi, did you manage to find out as looking to replace my worn out 2009 Abarth 500 shafts with those from a low mile 2018 Abarth 595. Thanks

ok, according to buycarparts.co.uk, they both use the same OEM part number - FIAT (55209967), with 25 splines/teeth at the wheel hub end.
