Esc hillstop unavailable
« on: May 03, 2020, 09:59:11 am »
I have a 18 plate 595 abarth on fiance which I've had for 7/8  weeks, (made aware of issue before lockdown) on a weekly basis if not more often it come up with hilstart unavailable and esc issues and will also switch into limp mode, on a motorway if doesn't seem to be able to sustain 60-70mph at a constant and will die off even though I'm not taking any pressure off the pedal.

Any information or advice is much appreciated as I don't want to be left with a faulty car and hundreds to pay out

Hi Pico, welcome to the forum.

Was this a private purchase or from a garage/dealer?

Have you contacted them for assistance?

Could well be something simply like the battery either needs charging or faulty. :thumb:

To find any fault codes on the ECU really is the way to go.

Difficult situation with the virus lockdown.

Are you an essential worker needing to travel?

Is the car covered by Abarth warranty?

If yes then contact Abarth UK for advice.

I had this problem not being used to electronic start procedures, the solution for me was to wait for the instruments to go through the boot up before starting up

If it was only the hillstop malfunctioning, that would have been great! I hate that feature.  :P

Sorry I can't really help with your problem. Hopefully it's only something battery related. You could try replacing it and see if that solves it?
