Flying stone caused a graze on my windscreen
« on: August 16, 2020, 10:12:44 pm »
Hi all,

As the title says, a stone from car in front flew up and hit my windscreen caused a bang and a 1cm graze (not chip) in the process.

I’m trying to find the best solution to polish or buff it out and with what product.

Can anybody give any suggestions?

Thanks very much.

i may be wrong but im sure most insurers would repair this sort of damage for free, i've certainly had chips repaired for free in the past and once done are almost untraceable on the screen. Maybe you could inquire with your insurer?

    Thanks for the reply.
I contacted Autoglass who sent someone out, I had forgotten i added them as a stand alone option on my insurance and just cost £10. That was refunded in the end as the guy said it was quite deep enough to be filled and was too deep to be buffed out.

Oh well, I can live with a fingernail catching graze. Maybe I should have made it deeper.
