Thanks for that Alex.  According to John's original pricing of the first 200 as £14850 it looks like a saving of a tenner.  Great!!  Every little helps!

Whats disconcerting is where John gets his information.  My dealer has no official prices or dates, just ball park figures.  At the start of this thread it states "confirmed prices"

No disrespect John, are you privvy to certain information before any other dealers or are you keeping us keen?!

Just miffed that other dealers know very little or are they just not being very pro-active?

No foul on your part Alex, the Fiat website and the 13.5K price was pretty much indication they would do this, still happy about the leather price being kept in line though.

I am also wondering how this is all 'confirmed' when Rockingham said yesterday there was no official news, just what was appearing on the forums. Fairly sure it was mentioned somewhere that Abarth UK went back to work today and Abarth HQ was 12th. Unless it was all released earlier and the pre-orders are being called in sequence. Ordering certainly wasn't scheduled to open this week as far as they were concerened, think they really want to start processing some of thier paperwork :)

See your point olopboy.  I think Alex was referring to actual FIAT prices, Abarth i'm sure will inherit these prices too.

Guess your dealer is the same as mine, sitting and waiting for official confirmation of dates etc.

I'm keen to know as i'm off to IRAQ in March so hope to get my hands on one of the first 200 if they're released as 'predicted' in Feb.

    Thanks Dazza

    Nothing against you personally!

Just seems strange why one dealer blurts out official this and that and you guys, the other dealers keep quiet.  Kind of don't blame you - why get peoples hopes up when there is no substance to back it up.

Sorry guys for appearing negative!  Being new to this forum and reading through peoples comments, we are all looking forward to the 500A including me.  Some people are taking this forum as gospel - its great sharing experiences and pics, just think its a bit unfair telling people this and that has been released when it clearly hasn't.  This leads to some of us ringing our dealers saying things have been confirmed, only to be asked "have they?"

Personally we all need to sit tight and wait for our dealers to contact us with official details.

Sorry for ranting - won't happen again - i think i speak on behalf of a few!

Don't worry about it, those of us waiting for the 500 are an impatient lot, but Abarth are really to blame, makeing such a cool sort after little car, letting the europeans having and then keeping us in the dark  ;D

I'm sure things will progress now the Christmas period is over, tbh I was shocked by the OP I wasn't expecting anything to be said until late this week at the earliest because of the hols.

Deep breaths we know the wait will be worth it.  :thumb:

The information in this thread was given to me verbally by my zone rep. When asked as to whether we should wait for it in writing or to start telling people I was told the info was correct so not to hold back.

Whilst I appreciate why you did post this info, it would appear that your zone rep jumped the gun and all he has done is cause more aggravation to the customers and possibly other dealerships who no doubt have got it in the neck for not knowing. I can also now understand why Kevin keeps saying things in 'provisional' terms until he gets absolute, official, in writing details.

As I posted previously, people waiting for a completely new car are even more impatient that normal new car purchasers we've already seen one of the original 500 depositors cancel due to the lack of info. Hope this doesn't blow up for you John as I can see why you did it and don't envy the calls you're going to have to make if the ordering doesn't open this week.

Stay frosty, you're still one of the good guys in my book :thumb:

Personally I can't understand why people are prepared to put down money on a car months in advance, which they haven't even seen, let alone driven and for which there is no guaranteed delivery date. It's not the second coming.

As I have said to all of my customers, If ordering doesn't open this week they will be the first to know. Any relevant info is always passed on to the customers before it goes on here so there is no grey area. I can only work with the info given so if a senior person at Abarth tells me to pass on info, why would I hold it back?

    Plenty of people do though...

I know it's not in the same league, but when I was working for BMW people regularly used to put huge deposits on new models (M3 and X5 being the ones that spring to mind first) sometimes 12 months or more before they were released.

people do it because they want to be the first to drive it/own it! i cant blame them to be honest, i wanted to be the first to have a AGP i just didnt have the money at the time!

i supose its part of owning the car, the build up to actually getting it and excitement?

    Exactly.

I sold a Fiat 500 today to a chap that had the first MINI Cooper S John Cooper Works in the country, and one of the first Ferrari 612 Scaglietti in the country, both of which he ordered well over a year before they were released for that very reason.
