Well not sure about steering column but there's some exposed wires near the clutch pedal which I sometimes come close to catching.

    Got my letter today.

    Was going to ring Glyn Hopkin at St Albans because they're my nearest dealer (By MILES!) but they're not on the list with the recall.

    Don't really want to drive all the way to Romford, or Corby or Coventry, its over an hour each way, so I'm hoping GH St Albans can do it.

    Service is nearly due, so I can kill two birds.......

    Is this a certain age, mines 2009, only picked it up on Friday and did all the paperwork so they've probably got the previous keepers details

    I got my letter today, car was brand new in May , will be ringing St. Albans to carry out as nearest to me, surely they must be able to do it as they are an official abarth dealer.

    When my old car was in for it's service in July this was carried out by the dealer then it was just a case of cable tieing the wires together to hold them in place as I think there was a chance they might drop and then rub takes a couple of mins at most, I think there was an earlier thread that mentioned it but I can't find it!

    Mines a 2009 too. I doubt they'll be calling ours back after 5 years on the road. I wouldn't worry!

    2013 model, got a letter yesterday. Getting to and from my nearest dealer (Rockingham) to have it done is pretty much half a day gone. So spoke to Gurbinder at Rockingham today, as my next service is due in 2,5K miles. He says no problem, it can wait that long.

    I phoned Abarth about it, they said that Glyn Hopkin, St Albans were a dealer, so OK (It was an awful line and not sure she knew what I was talking about)

    I rang Glyn Hopkin at St Albans, very friendly.

    Abarth haven't signed off the paperwork to allow them to do warranty and recall work (crazy, they're Abarth, Alfa and FIAT dealers) They've chsed it up today. 

    He suggested I wait a few weeks before I ring, the service is due in November, so will try nearer the time.

    My car is almost 2 years old and this is the first thing to happen to it, so I'm not too worried about the recall for the time being.

    Has anyone got an auto thats been recalled? Saw the post about wires near the clutch pedal earlier so does it only affect manuals? no sign of a letter for my auto.
