lap of the ring
« on: October 14, 2015, 04:01:06 pm »
You have just got to watch this awesome lap of the ring in an Abarth. The driver is very good. Hangs onto an M3 for quite a while and a golf R. I didn't think I would watch it all the way through but did as it's so awesome. Just shows what our little cars are capable of. Enjoy

That was very impressive driving. Just shows how much speed these little cars can take through the turns! Curious to know if its a 180 bhp or not? ;)

Its a 160bhp comp. I've watched this clip loads. He is a decent driver who certainly knows his way around the ring.
I subscribed to his channel a while back. I think he has footage from other track days on his channel too :thumb:

Ah yes classic these, seen them before, just shows you how BIG a difference driver skill is when it comes to lap times.

Some people could take a 160 like that and embarrass people with 250+ easy. I know my friends in their 220bhp Integras had a hard time keeping up with my 160, the 180 is another level. At brands hatch I was keeping pace with an Evo FQ360 around the track in the 190 Biposto, but perhaps he was a newbie, you just never know.

All I know is it takes FAR more skill to push a standard car and yourself to the limit than the lazy option which is to just inject more BHP and unbalance the professional set up of the car, at least that's what a guy I know who races in Britcar 24 hour tells me. I should really let him take mine around the track, ha ha.

Time Attack is something I have always wanted to get into but a bad back tells me otherwise!

Can you imagine what the driver in the M3 and Porsche thinking?  Can't shake off the fiat 500!!

The turbo gauge, I just don't know why can't they just flip the LHR to the right?  Rather than the stand out turbo gauge?  is there a requirement of the turbo gauge has to be on the left hand side of the driver or the speedometer!?!?
