Hi Everyone,

I bought my A500SS with the Monza exhaust already fitted and I love it. As to performance improvement, I test drove a standard SS and I don't remember it having quite so much mid range torque. I saw on a Magnetti website that they were claiming a 12 bhp increase on a non SS A500, I emailed them about improvements for the SS and they never responded.

The great thing is the sound it makes. I've watched the videos on YouTube and they make it sound very tinny and it's not. Very deep and throuty. Not quite like the Super Dragger I have on my Supra and still good.

The best bit is the back firing though. Accelerate hard and every time you shift up through the box you get a bang. It's like being 10 years old again. I think it's hilarious this tiny car ripping down the road back firing! :-)

Maybe just me.

Regards

David

Anyone else noticed the two pipes on the left rear are not quite aligned? You have to stand right over the pipes to see it.  I thought it was a fault on mine but the dealers demo was the same.  Most weird....
    No one else notice this?

Yes mines the same, i did jack it up and manoeuvre it about on its lugs so it sat "straight" but after a few miles of spirited driving it had returned to its original location :( suppose i can live with it  ::)

My standard exhaust had wonky exits, dealer fixed it under warranty with a blow torch and some persuasion. Worth asking surely not?

Doesn't bother me really as it now seems they're all like that.  It's how it sounds what matters. :thumb:

True, but it stood out more on the shiny standard one, hence why it annoyed the B'Jesus out of me!

Funny, it's not been doing it as much anymore in the heat, she prefers cold air to pop! Plus i always run mine on standard unleaded so that slightly lesser refined fuel might help too!  ;D

I was one of the first to get the Monza exhaust fitted way back in December and since it was fitted mine has always popped and banged aka backfires!

Just had an interesting conversation with Admiral.  I said how much to add the Monza onto my car, and they said nothing.  As it is a option of the car when you buy it, it is not classed as an after market mod and does not need declaring.  They said it is like leather seat and climate control, they are all options on the list but you don't tell them each option you are having.

Must say I'm pleased with that result!

Strange...  when I recently called Admiral to get my Multi-car policy updated to include the 500, they wanted to know about the optional extras, so had to tell the about leather/climate/17" wheels...  I don't think it made a difference to the price, but I think they wanted to note the spec in their system in case it's ever written off.
