Monza flap
« on: August 15, 2013, 08:48:02 pm »
Whilst sorting out my squeaky rear brakes,:whistle:I had a look at the infamous flap.

It was seized solid. :thumbd:

To my surprise in the closed position I believe, with lever to the rear and short spring.

Ten minutes later it was free with the lever going forward stretching the spring.

Can someone confirm that the flap is open with the lever forward and spring stretched?

If this is so, it dispels the notion that the flap always sticks open

I would have thought with the spring pulling the flap closed when the car is not being used , it would naturally seize in this position.

Yes you are right, when the spring is stretched the flap is open. Coppa slip grease is your friend :thumb:
