Official spec for first 200 launch 500
« on: November 21, 2008, 09:28:53 am »
Good morning guys,
I can now officially confirm the spec, colour and wheels for the first 200 Abarth 500 that are coming to this country.
500 Abarth 1.4 turbo 135 BHP
1949 white
Red Leather
red side stripes and mirrors
Climate control
17" upgraded alloys.
The picture attached is of the exact spec, but obviously the picture is of a LHD car.

    Brilliant, thanks for that John.

I'll still wait to spec mine though. I now find myself strangely drawn to grey with white wheels! Can't help but feel that would be a mistake of yellow puma proportions - yes I've had one of those too...  ;D

I like grey the most. It's a pretty cool colour and I think white, or red stripes would look good.
GPA in velocity red with leather, climate & skydome.

I agree. In these pics, it looks fabulous although there are others where it looks decidedly battleship grey!

Yep, unless this turns out to be a great deal, I will wait to spec my own.

There will be no "deal" on the car, It will be the price of the car plus the extras.

After TG, I'd imagine the 200 will go quite readily, even with the comments that some people's circumstances have changed or they've lost patience waiting - both of which are understandable.

Actually pretty close to my spec anyway.. assuming thats 'proper' white :)

Any news on what is standard John? And any interior shots likely to be coming through (assuming you would have posted if you already had them)

Wonder how soon after launch the esse-esse kits will be available.. hmm....

Our garage is going to look very pale.. Golf Gti.. Candy White.. Elise.. Aspen White... 500.... well you get the picture - just the Aston for a shot of colour....

From a dealer point of view, I can understand peoples frustrations, its just as frustrationg for me. Good things come to those that wait, and with this I think it will be worth it.
As far as the 200 launch cars, we wont get stuck with them. When 500 was launched, every dealer got a 1.4 lounge in white with skydome and italian side stripe. This is by no means the most popular combination, but they went very quickly because of the "its there so I must have it" factor. Although we are in the middle of a depression, there are still people out there willing to spend money. If there weren't people prepared to spend, then the country would grind to a halt. Lets all hope that doesn't happen!!!!
Trikster, 1949 white is the same as bosa nova white on the 500.
    Standard kit will include:
    air con
    Blue + me
    remote locking
    electric windows
    7 airbags
    analogue turbo gauge
    optimum gear change light
    cd player with MP3 compatability
    steering wheel with flattened bottom

I don't know about the Esse Esse kits. They can't be that different to the G.P. kits and I can get one of those in 10 days now. I do know that you dont change the turbo on the 500, it dosen't need it.

That reminds me, do not expect to see the drivers foot rest in the RHD version, there is no room to mount it.

Nice spec and I dare say a few will more will specced exactly the same later in life. By the time I finally get to test one I dare say they'll be long gone so might as well wait for black with red leather.

Damn... silly as it sounds but somewhere to rest my left foot that's comfortable is important for me .. :s Is it the same deal in the 'normal' 500's? Might have to go and have a butchers...

Yes it is the same with 500, when we fit the pedal kit it is impossible to fit the foot rest.
