Probably a silly question but i've acquired a 67 plate 595 with absolutely no service history. Consequently, i got it well below trade price.

Anyway I checked the oil over the weekend and was shocked to see only a spot on the bottom of the dipstick. Obviously not driven the car since and have struggled to get the right oil for it (10w-50). But before I top it up, a mate mentioned they may have a 'dry sump' meaning the oil should be checked with the engine running?

Anyone confirm this or not?

Actually registered December 2017 so not quite 4 years old yet. Just clocked 18,000 mls so obviously due a service.

Couldn't get Selenia without going to my local main dealer which is a 9-mile drive and obviously didn't want to risk driving it. But given I plan to get it serviced, it will obviously have an oil/filter change anyway. I'm on the Isle of Wight so not likely to do many miles!
