I got it too.

People used to think I was saying 'A Bath 500' instead of Abarth 500 

Yep, me too! Most people think it is just a Fiat.

However, it has also divided opinion amongst those of my friends who do understand what I've ordered.

The doubters:

Most common -

1. "Are you mad spending that sort of money on a tarted up Fiat?"

2. "no way will that be as much fun as your current car"

3. "on that budget, you could easily have done better"

I just reckon most of them will have to eat their words.

Those in favour:

Most common -

1. "Great, I'll split the cost of a set of tyres with you and WE can take it on a track day"

2. When does it arrive so we can arrange a day out"

3. (and I think this is a positive) "great car which will suit you perfectly"



Not long before I can start proving the doubters wrong here either.   

I've had "has it broken down yet" and "it's a girl's car", however the majority of drivers I've seen are male

Also furthering that comment, three F500's passed me whilst I was parked up today, all female, giving me weird looks. I smiled at them and they still stared at me. I will believe that it's jealousy (probably not, but you know..) lol

Let's get this straight. The A500 is NOT a girl's car!

perhaps the worst thing was someone who owns a yellow/gold saxo telling me it was a girl's car!!

I love "different" cars. I could of bought a Clio 200, or a second hand M3 / Evo / Impreza. I don't really car about having a c*ck extension though and something everyone else drives

hahaaa!  you always have to say it twice and explain lol i had a woman come up to me yesterday and point at the italian flag badge and say "oo its french"  lol  ive never had anything but positive comments and waves and smiles even from normal 500's, ive often come back to my car to see people round it or taking pictures because they either want one or dont know what it is and one woman was surprised it even had back seats lol  ... although if people try and race me then i look in my rear view mirror to see someone in shock HAHA!!  ive had people videoing the back of the car with their phones at the next set of lights to see what it was that just wasted them, and one guy in a 5 series bmw pulled up along side trying to memorise the Abarth name on the side, but he kept forgetting it and in the end he was mouthing it out loud trying to remember it haaahaa! Ive made a few people google "Abarth 0-60mph  bhp" and the best bit is even if they have seen one before its more than likely not an SS .. and next is a DMS 195bhp conversion lmao!  These are the most fun cars!
