Piston wind-back tool when replacing rear brake pads
« on: April 23, 2020, 04:27:47 pm »

I notice on eBay you can buy a metal 'cube' tool to be used with a 3/8" drive socket with which to wind-back the caliper piston when fitting new pads. Many piston configurations are shown.
Question ... has anybody used one of these ? More important does it fit the Abarth caliper piston ? Before someone tells me...yes I probably could use pliers, ingenuity or whatever to get around it but since I have a few cars in my household I want it to be multi-purpose & as hassle free as possible. My other cars are a Hyundai & a Toyota.

Advice much appreciated.

You can most likely rent a wind-back tool in some car parts stores or get one on Amazon for barely 20£.

I picked up from Amazon recently and it worked a charm. Always ideal to have the right tool for the job. Good luck!
