Rear Brakes - fed up !!!
« on: May 11, 2020, 09:47:56 am »
So I have that most annoying squeal on my offside rear brake that Abarths are known for !!

Anybody have any tips for getting rid of it bearing in mind that I have already stripped and cleaned my callipers twice and degreased them.

Fitted new pads and discs etc.

Mainly seems to happen when I reverse.

    My last one did that!

The dealer took the cover plates off at the back of the disc(Is that what they are called?) cleaned them and put it back together and cured it

Ive been suffering from same issue and to help identify issue please try this.
With rear wheels on ground watch the lever the handbrake cable fits into at caliper as someone operates handbrake inside car.
There are lever travel stop pins on caliper, check travel of lever mechanism is equal both sides and that handbrake cable returns fully both sides, if caliper fault then likely stuck internals, best to exchange unit.
Otherwise maybe cable due for replacement.
    Hope this helps
