rear slider pin stuck solid, any advice 2009 500 Esseesse
« on: March 02, 2020, 03:36:51 pm »
Hey Abarthests!!

I'm new here and on my 2nd Abarth 500 in 6 months, sold first to get a Mito then changed my mind so now have a 2009 Esseesse, but from Scotland and previously abused IMHO.

So, fitting new grooved and drilled discs, front no issue, but rears!! Oh my days!!

Is there a special way to remove the slider pins? one came out with a bit of a tap, the other is stuck hard, I've increased beating it with a heavy hammer, I've a 16mm spanner C bit behind the bolt head, so not to hit it direct but man, it will not move a millimetre!!

Am I missing something?? I'm not a trained mechanic but kinda know the basics, just did the clutch and flywheel with only minor issues.

PLEASE HELP... As its still jacked in the street.. Thanks in advance

Does it turn with a spanner on it?

If not, I suspect it needs a bit of heat.   :thumb:
