scorpion stickers only have one year waranty

I was in my dealers today booking my car in for new stickers under the doors, the service manager asked how old the car was, i told him 6 months and he said thats ok the stickers are still under warranty... he explained that the abarth stickers were only covered for 1 year from date of purchase.
Anyone else heard this?

    well the plastic trim on GPA's that is coming away from most peoples cars only has a 1 year warranty too.  :thumbd:

    I was going to leave the replacement stripes until the first service... glad i never now. Its a really poor show when they clearly know that certain parts on the car will not last more than 12 months on a £16000 car
    How can a car with a three year warranty actually have a one year warranty on certain bits ???
    Does anybody know if anything else in the car has limited warranty

    Seems a bit stingey when most other Fiats have a 5 year warranty, even Kia has 7 years. I'm just glad my friend can replace mine very cheap should they peel...but it still sucks if it's true  :thumbd:

    i could understand an accessory stripe only having 1 year warranty but i would expect a factory applied stripe to have the same cover as the paintwork

    bits of bodywork (sideskirts etc) dropping off should have the full warranty as well i reckon

    Agreed. You have to love the small print with warranty.

    Where's the small print that excludes certain bits from the warranty?  I have 5 years and expect if things go wrong not to be fobbed off with small print.  I treat my cars with care (the last Punto went 10 years without any major issues and was still going strong when we swapped it for the GPA).

    Exactly. Unless there's a clause in the warranty that states the stripes are exempt from the full 3 (or 5 in some cases) year cover, then they should be treated the same as the rest of the car. I need to sort my nearside stripe out. Some bugger in a van forced me into a hedge and along with scratching the paint work (which I spent all weekend polishing out), I've gone and ragged up part of the vinyl, so I have a nice black bit on my white stripe now. ARGH.

    5 year warranty wont be on everything as you know. General wear and tear things have a lower warranty period. It's only the really major mechanics that will have the full 5 year. John will be able to clear this up a bit better. I wasn't aware that the trim only had a years warranty. Not good news seeing as there's so many people with problems with theirs coming loose.

    As far as I know, Cosmetic items (stripes, bits of plastic etc) are only covered for the first year. That is the same for most manufacturers so dont try and beat Abarth up about that. (We now have 9 franchises under the Vospers name and they are all the same)
    I haven't read it cover to cover but I'm sure your warranty book will explain exactly what is covered under you warranty period except you lucky G.P. owners that have got the 5 year warranty by mistake :whistle:
