This isn't the first time this has come up and even if no money's being made out of it I think the dealers and body shops need to be very clear with people about what they are having put onto their cars. All this worries me as I want to be sure that when I pay to have the car serviced that the proper parts will be used.

Sorry did also mean to say no matter the reason, however the poor quality of the decals is not acceptable.

If it were then I would contact AutoWorld and Abarth UK. Every aspect of the font on the stripes didn't look right to me. If you ordered factory stickers & stripes but received aftermarket ones then its a breach of 2 laws - Sales of Goods Act & Trades Description Act.

Guys and we be a little careful  throwing the F word around, there may be reasons as to why the car has the stripes it has, like it was a plain car factory order that was changed when it got to the dealership etc...

The car was plain white when we bought it,

Buying the stickers as an aftermarket part is much, much more expensive than a factory option just like the wheels.

Yes Chris this was a plain white car as you say.
Are the decals and the mirror colour change not an official accesory, i am sure i have seen this somewhere, and
i dont really want different coloured decals to the mirrors.
If they come from the factory correct i would expect mine to be the same.
    mine to be the same.

Picture above is defo cheapy knock offs, they're even in the wrong position, way too high! Full refund or change them for genuine is what i would be demanding! No body can beat mine though, they're factory fit and yet the end part of the stripe is a different shade of red to the bit that runs the length of the door! No one has even noticed on here though  ;)

yes never noticed the height, i assume they should sit just above the lip of the body kit, an inch or so lower.

Yes obvious when you see them side by side.
So colour wrong, font wrong, height wrong, 3 out of three then.
i feel a phonecall coming on. has anyone breached this subject
    with there respective dealerships before.

Can i ask Gemma does your side stripe colour match your mirror colour. Anybody else got different colour side stripes to the mirror colour?

I would say my say stripes are the same as mirrors or very close match. The side stripes are the same colour as the scorpion and the checked roof

Car has just arrived home. Bev had it today
Just gone out to have look at the stripes and they are on at an angle about 2 degrees
or so lifting up towards the front.
    what a pile of poo.

Don't worry, you're within you're rights to demand either a refund or a genuine replacement as that's what you paid for. All i can say is, good job they're only vinyl, so easily replaced. Imagine they were painted on!

Ok everyone thanks for posting. :thumb:

Do we have anywhere on the forum, problems and issues sort of thing, things to watch for when buying new.
where this can be highlighted, so any new buyer is aware, or has it already been done?.

Careful with that sort of section - may sound like we're not happy with our cars and scare off prospective buyers.

Just be calm and collected when you phone.

If they were sold as 'official' and it says this on the invoice then get a proper job done, if they were not sold as official and this isn't detailed on the invoice I'm not sure what can be done.

How much did you pay for them if you don't mind me asking?  If you paid less then £160 I wouldn't have expected them to be legit.

Other than that you happy with the car?  Try not to let a small incident like this spoil your enjoyment of such a great little car.  :thumb:

    Hope that helps.

    Not at all.
It's a bit like i looked on this forum to see what people  thought of the Abarth, and try
to be aware of any problems when i bought a new 500
Did not put me off though :thumb:
