I feel that you don't have to 'boot' the car as much with it on, so the MPG isn't that much different. There is a massive hill on the way to work and I really have to stick the foot down without it on but with it on I just seem to climb it with my foot on the pedal as normal.

It has to be said though, if you don't turn it off, you don't appreciate the difference that it makes when its on.

It does seem a bit silly that a car like this should have a sport button anyway. I mean, you don't buy a car with scorpions all over it to drive like a granny, right?

Non sport mode (snooze button) is there simply to meet emission regs.

Sport mode is how the car should be, don't deprive yourselves by driving around in sleep mode  :thumb:

Drive in non sport and you may find that Carlo comes back from the dead and removes your car from the "un worthy" while you sleep  :watching:

For everyday driving, that is around town and short journeys I drive in normal mode.
I use Sport mode for long journeys or on the motorway.  I find this works well for me.
I really appreciate the car when in Sport mode; the driving experience is much more rewarding.
For me it wouldn't be the same always driving in Sport mode!

The thing is though, if you're just sat on the motorway at (insert your cruising speed here)mph, then Sport mode isn't really doing anything other than burning more petrol. If that's your thing, perhaps you should also look into other hobbies like burning money, or TVR ownership :-)

If someone would like to explain why a steady 77mph in Sport is better than 77mph in normal, feel free.......

sport doesn't burn more petrol at motorway speeds, its driving style that makes the difference :thumb:

I think that's true. Driving at 70mph will have the engine running at around 2500rpm in both sport and non sport mode (providing you are in 5th that is ;) ) the only difference would be if you're going to downshift and overtake someone i imagine.

I don't believe this, sorry. Certainly according to the onboard computer (granted I've not tested out how accurate this is) non-sport mode produces much higher MPG figures.

The other thing of course is the heavy steering. If there was the option to turn that off I might use Sport more often - don't really see why they chose to make it that much heavier when you hit the fun button.

All you sport button turner-offers should be shot! Why didn't you buy a 1.2 F500 pop if it's soooo important to save 2mpg?

Turn it on, leave it on and live a little - you might even like it!

I disconnected my button in case it got turned off by accident  :thumb:
Now that I'm a grown up I drive a sensible grey 595 Competizione with grey leather sabelt seats and yellow brake calipers. It's jolly nice! It's got a name - ' Razzogrigio' Now with a custom S/S group N style exhaust, black Esseesse wheels and a GTT induction kit, all sitting on Eibach springs.
