SS kit dampers

The original SS kit was uprated dampers and stiffer/lowered springs all round making a firmer ride.
The latest SS Koni kit has the new FSD Konis and, the same?, springs.

 It is my understanding that the Konis' provide a soft ride but more control when pressing on.

So is the soft phase of the Koni similar to the original A500C dampers ie comfortable?

    Can't answer that properly as I've not driven a standard A500c, all I know is the Koni's control the rebound in a more progressive manner so the ride is more compliant.  It was certainly better than the non-Koni A500 SS I drove at the dealer.

    It isn't just about the damping being more progressive, it is to do with how it treats different frequencies of movement in different ways.

    I must admit, I wondered myself how comfortable they are cruising, but with all the knocking problems being reported (search), I have gone totally off of the idea. I'm thinking Blisteins now and live with them being firm.

    But (I don't think) that is the same thing. Progressive is more about the firmness/movement (i.e. the further it moves the firmer it gets), whereas the FSD immediately reacts to the type/speed of movement. I know what you mean, I just don't think it is the right use of the word..... Just being picky and quite possibly wrong! ;)

    Btw, I'm not trying to "win" any sort of argument... Just making sure the OP understands how the FSDs work.

    I wouldn't call it uncomfortable, but it may be too firm for some.

    I'd take up John's offer and try it yourself, don't rely on anyone else's opinion.  Just take your time and try both out.  SS with Koni for me is better than SS without, but compared to standard is personal opinion.
