US 500
« on: February 12, 2018, 07:09:55 pm »
Things maybe changing if we get the US models over here.

The humble Fiat 500 will get the Tjet 135 engine...

That will certainly surprise a few in the traffic light grand prix.

Why do you think we would get the Mexican built 500 in EU?

    I did say 'if'.

FCA may rationalise world wide production.

Looking into this a bit further, it appears I've made a mistake.

The US 500 range, both Fiat and Abarth, use the 1.4 Multiair engine.

Fiat 500 have the NA 1.4 Multiair 105bhp version and Abarth use the same engine but with a turbo at 160bhp.

For 2018 the 105bhp MA engine will be replaced by the 135bhp turbo MA engine.

This will be for the North American market.

But if FCA do rationalise, then the same might happen here in the EU.

Well if Poland gets kicked out of EU, Fiat needs to move the production for EU too
