124 headlamps
« on: October 07, 2019, 06:45:08 pm »
I'm thinking of getting an Abarth 124.

They come with 'halogen' lights or 'Visibility pack' LED headlights.

Obviously the LED will be bright but are the halogen lights as bad as previous Fiat/Alfa projector lamps.

Has anyone compared, side by side, the two options in a photo?

Thanks

    Hi

I’ve read only 14% have Visibility pack. Only one left new in the country and that I think had stock photos so might not have the vis pack, be wary.

Sorry but have not been able to place two vehicles side by side to compare. I do have the vis pack and sometimes drivers appear to flash me, I guess they think dipped lights are on full beam. The light is a cool white, sharp and really good. The key is actually the parking sensors that help for tight spaces.

I’ve done 600 miles and that equates to 600 miles of smiling. This car is awesome. Good luck finding one.

Hi tried emailing direct but it might have not made it. How did you get on with your search. I see the last new one has sold.  A

    Hi

I did read that 60% are manual and 40% auto. That’s a deeply personal choice, especially for this type of vehicle. I went auto and am very happy. Paddle shift is on autos and so is the manual via the stick, ie push forward or back. However I am sure for many the pure manual is the only option and I respect that.

I see no more new ones for sale on Autotrader.

The AutoItalia magazine had quite a good buying guide FYI.

If you can get one with the Visibility pack, ie rear parking sensors etc that could be good. Bose and Heritage are again all personal choices and balanced against colour, mileage, age ohhh and price.

I wish you well finding what you want and please keep us all updated as to how you get on.

    A :)
