2018 model 10,000 miles black smoke at start up???
« on: January 29, 2020, 12:09:59 pm »
Dark strong-smelling exhaust smoke from a cold start with 2-3 000 rpm revs today?
Not impressed I have only had the car a week.

Didn't happen on a repeat startup.  I thought any dark coloured smoke was oil getting past pistons.

Blue smoke will be oil, blackish smoke excess petrol.

Smell will probably be the cold catalyser.

I think it was black rather than blue so should be OK.
