Title: Abarth 124 (USA) VS Mazda MX-5 (Miata Club) - Track Test.

Interesting comparison here, as I noted before the MX-5 and Abarth 124 pretty much have exactly the SAME power to weight here in the UK. The MX-5 has the edge in the USA as their Abarth is a slightly lower 164hp vs our 170hp, plus we get the Brembo's Standard  :thumb:

I think it's safe to say that at this early stage in the 124's life, the closeness in performance is not by chance.

For example power and weight (without driver) of the lowest power UK models:
Fiat 124: 140hp - 1050kg = 136 bhp/ton
MX-5: 130hp - 975kg = 135 bhp/ton

Fastest UK models (without drivers):
Abarth 124: 170hp - 1050kg = 163 bhp/ton
MX-5: 160hp - 1000kg = 163 bhp/ton

All weights and power outputs taken from official Mazda/Fiat/Abarth sources.

Can't wait to have a go of the Fiat 124....... think they are arriving September though, later than I thought.
Don't tell anyone I said this... but I think they are slightly better looking than the Abarth.....  :-X
