I was intrigued by your comment about the seized valve in the Record Monza exhaust fitted to your Spider, so when my local garagiste was checking for damage to the underside of mine today after an encounter with a loose rock in the middle of the road, I asked him to look at my exhaust valve. Lo and behold, it was jammed in the open position. Or so we thought initially until a closer inspection revealed two tack welds, one at each opposite side of the valve’s pivot post! Is this as Officine Abarth intended? And if so, why?
I shall quiz my dealer in the morning.
P.s. thankfully no damage from the errant rock was found, in case you were wondering.
Oh, and my rear suspension creaks periodically as well, most notably as the handbrake is released during a hill start. I wonder if some of the suspension bushes are exhibiting a bit of “stiction”. The car still handles brilliantly though so I will wait and see if anything develops.
