Alarm activation whilst driving
« on: January 30, 2019, 11:41:28 am »
Has anyone had any issues with the car alarm activating whilst driving? Driving yesterday when the horn started sounding abd hazards came on.  Only had the car a week with 200 miles on the clock.  124 GT.  any info would be great before I speak to the dealer..  not filling me with confidence.

So, a few weeks later and it’s never happed again.  Was seen by the dealer but they couldn’t find anything wrong.  Hopefully just a one off gremlin.  I did however, have my hazard lights come on after trying to use the sat nav touch screen whilst driving. After reading the manual it appears that the touch screen is deactivated when driving.  Not sure the hazards are supposed to activate though.  I guess I’ll just stop touching the screen when moving

    Well done for noting this.

Apologies for the late reply. I wonder if you had a marginally low battery voltage. Perhaps the car had been sat at the dealers or distributors for a while.
I have had a similar experience with another Italian FCA vehicle that I don't use often enough. All sorts of bizarre warning messages appeared with no fault found when the dealer interrogated the control unit. Eventually they replaced the battery under warranty and I started using a CTEK battery conditioner. No problems since, touch wood! I really should drive the car more often, though.

Its now been a year and a half since I posted this.  Happy to report that I've never had a repeat of this problem.  I have, however, stopped touching the infotainment screen completely.  Just use the buttons/wheel.  My feeling is that this has stopped the issue returning.
