I did guess this... also reports of 210 bhp for an Esseesse type model. I am interested now....

Wonder if they do a line up similar to the 500 with a range of 3 engines. 170 bhp standard, 190 bhp & 210 bhp. Also talks of a hard core version which funnily enough was quoted as up to 220 bhp...  Would all fall in place!

Excellent!  ;D 200bhp+ will most definitely pull me in  :thumb:

And as above, a hard top would blow my mind.

Remember this is just lazy journalism from just about anywhere reporting 'Pistonheads' who probably got it from the internet somewhere in the US that:-

" will be tuned from its current 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque to a healthier 200+ horses."

Obviously reporting the US spec. standard 124 at 160bhp and probably guessing at 200+ 'horses' :deadhorse:
    And so it goes on:-

I didn't think the review was particularly informative or well written but thought it was interesting that the editor of Auto Italia has allegedly seen the car and says it looks nothing like the rendering.

well the fiat version visually doesn't change much except bumpers and interior slightly.
so if they do that with abarth it will be a shame as they want to go "extreme" so im really hoping for something bit more "extreme"
Now with added monza fun :P

Just some info for you guys from a reliable source. 170 bhp, will have  mechanical LSD, 0-62 in 6.8s. Apparently will be a launch model but also news of a second engine choice on top of the 1.4L. The other engine is supercharged... hopeful of more power from this other engine. As things stands why would I go from a 180 comp which is faster and more powerful to something less powerful and slower. Roll on a 200 bhp esseesse model please abarth which is close to or breaks the the 6s mark.

I could bet the 180 Comp is actually slower (at least from a standstill) plus it's much less aerodynamic and heavier and seriously lacking an LSD, the ESP is always kicking in too near the limit and although it's keeping the car on the road it feels like it's a bit too soon.

I would love a 200bhp 124 though, would blow my mind, but even with 170Bhp, it's all about the perfect balanced drifting handling....

Just in Italy at the moment. Bought a copy of Quattroruote where they have their first full road test of the 124. 140hp with 177 ib-ft torque good for the 62mph sprint in 7.1 seconds and on to a top speed of 133mph. Cutting a long story short and my Italian reading isn't what it once was, aside from road noise with roof down/up and visibility, they loved it, especially the way it handles and feels. No official word on price yet, but they touting this model in the region of 33,000 euros.
