Some advice please
« on: May 20, 2018, 09:09:11 pm »
Hi guys first time post so please be patient.

My wife is the proud owner of a new 124 Abarth which we are both enjoying a great deal, the weather is helping obviously. The car is now around 6 weeks old and I have a few questions if you guys would be kind enough to help.

Firstly we have the genuine sat nav card but last week the screen just gave the spinning dial. I did the obvious wipe retry etc but now have the compass screen with no sat nav installed message.

Secondly the exhaust strangly seems to have quietened down and the lovely pop is now non existent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as a return to the deal fills me with dread.

Thanks

Regarding the satnav issue, i bought an ‘Ebay’ card which seems to work very well but it too threw a wobble in the early days. I used to take the card out and re-insert it making sure it was in tight, it seems to have a fair amount of slack in the slot.

It’s been behaving over the last few months thankfully.

The exhaust note changes on ours too. I suspect it’s a sticky valve/flap. It’s going in for it’s first annual service soon so we’ll see what they say about that issue then.

    Thanks

The sat nav turned out to be a corrupt card, sorted by the dealer today. I have to say I was very pleased with Magnoletsi service.

Had a look under the car this afternoon and it appears the exhaust valve is seized. It is impossible to move even with the spring removed so looking like another warranty job.

Hi guys just a quick update

Exhaust back box replaced under warranty.

Car now great again and in my honest opinion runs better than when I temporarily fixed the flap open.

Worth checking as I think cars have been stood some time after being built.
