Title: Space saver spare wheel
Post by: MJL on March 06, 2020, 08:39:23 pm
Hi

I’m picking up a 124 Scorpione next week, and really looking forward to it. I wondered is anyone has advice/views on a space saver spare wheel

Thanks

I would not bother with a spare wheel. The tyre glue stuff could solve some issues. After that having breakdown cover could help. If you service with Abarth I think you get a free pickup and delivery to a dealership. Personal choice but it would fill the boot.

In some ways the car is about freedom of spirit and living. Take the risks and just enjoy the driving. If you get a puncture I will now feel bad but put it like this I haven’t got one.

Enjoy your new car. Any questions just ask and our little group will be able to help.

Thanks for the responses. I have found an outlet selling a spacesaver wheel designed for the 124 but it won’t fit in the well in the boot. I think I probably will do without. I’ll just be pleased to get on the road after this virus lockdown.

Regards

The 'wise' thing to do before we set off on any drive is to ensure we have enough fuel, check that our lights work and the condition of out tyres. Yes we all do that every time  ;D. Being a biker it is important to make sure the bike is in good working order. I check the tyres once a week and sometimes I have been lucky to pull out a nail before it punctures the tyre, sometimes not.

To reduce the risk a regular tyre and pressure check might save you being stranded.
