0-60 TMC
« on: December 24, 2012, 03:55:53 pm »
Hi all. I know the TMC will take the standard APE up to near the 200bhp mark. But can't seem to find what the 0-60 would be. Looking forward to unwrapping my TMC box on Christmas morning. Hope I have been a good boy this year.

Around 7s at a guess. Maybe a bit below depending on how the car handles the power? I remember John from Vospers timed a run at 6.6s using some gadget - not sure how accurate that is really though.

Never had it done, I've  only put it on a rolling road to see what bhp it was pushing out
Which was 181.6 bhp spiked and a steady 177.9bhp

    Not the gadget in question.
The VI Monitor plugs into the OBDII port and will give a real world 0-60 reading.

Ok, was the box on the car when you had the 6.6 sec 0-60?

I only ever timed it on an AGP Esse Esse so I don't think you can take that time as a reference.

The added weight must help with traction, I can't see even a true 190bhp A500 getting close to 6.6s 0-60.

APESS with TMC is the same ;)  ;D

stock APE I got 7.5, never tested it since as to be honest needing third its never going to be amazing unless you're a ninja on the gearbox. One of the other owners used a VI monitor to measure with an APE and TMC for 6.8s, course all depends on how VI measures as I track OBD speed as well as 10hz GPS and car can be out a touch via OBD, still its not bad.

now i no longer own my ape
i will mention this. in 2011 i whrn to ford fair but took the ape and managed to blag a stand pass which led to me spending lot of the day going up the 0-60 stripe.

my fastest time was 6.62 but this eas with tge traction still kicking in off the line. a friend of my dads recons the traction cost me arpubd .1 second each time it kicked in if not more. this was first time i had done this too. he reacons low 6s would be possible thow on a faultless run. Car also had less then 6k ob clock so engine was not compketely loss and was before gearbox was sorted.

so to answer question 6.62 my best but lower could be acheived

This makes interesting reading Gaz, going on your 6.62 I'd say my old car must have been in the high 5's then coz you couldn't keep up with me on the way to the 8 ball. Even better news my new car feels even faster than the old one. Might take it to Ford fair and see what that does 0-60 should be around 2.7 seconds  ;D
Now that I'm a grown up I drive a sensible grey 595 Competizione with grey leather sabelt seats and yellow brake calipers. It's jolly nice! It's got a name - ' Razzogrigio' Now with a custom S/S group N style exhaust, black Esseesse wheels and a GTT induction kit, all sitting on Eibach springs.

Recorded a 6.83 @ Trax. That was with the TMC set to 7 and a modified airbox. Am now running it maxed out and with an IK so would imagine a 6.5 would be possible with a perfect launch and sticky tarmac.
