Title: APE engine tuning limits

I was just wondering if anyone one knows the limits of the 1.4 tjet multi-air engine because I am tuning my car and have set a target of 220hp and am not to far off that as I have induction kit, silicon hoses and supersprint exhaust fitted so after my remap and once my intercooler is fitted I should be around 220hp and because I just read somewhere that when you get around 200-220 it can cause serious damage to your engine I.e broken piston ect... If you do not fit forged internals. And before I get to that amount and cause my engine a serious amount of damage and cost myself all new engine I would like to know if anyone else is around there and hasn't had to swap there internals over as this is around a 2k job and I won't be doing that
Any help would be appreciated

Only thing that could cause a possible issue is mapping the car, as the Evo doesn't like being on rolling roads if I remember correctly. So you might have to either stick to a tuning box or get a ECU reflash which might not take into account the full spectrum of the mods on the car.
I think most cars with a cat back exhaust, induction kit, front mounted intercooler will be able to get away with not needing a remap as most of the above mentioned is plug and play, plus won't won't make a huge difference in one area to totally confuse the factory ECU.
When we move upto Sport cats, actuators and possible turbo swaps the we def need to start considering remapping or ECU re flashing with a dedicate map, Daron at TMC might be able to help in that area as there is a 500 owner currently posting in the tuning section that has had his ECU done by Daron.
I'm not sure of what possible outputs the Evo's Multi-air unit is capable of or safe pushing but I'm sure one of the better informed Evo owners should be able to shed some light on the subject.
If your seriously looking to take the engine as far as possible don't forget to save some cash for at the very least a brake upgraded and maybe even suspension

Thanks a lot and how come the APE doesn't like rolling roads? And I'm aiming for 220 so with an induction kit and intercooler and cat back and then a remap should get me there I was also looking at a new turbo actuator the other day as well and that's all I'm aiming to do and just want the peace of mind that my engine will be able to take that amount of power with out damaging itself

The stock intercooler is actually quite reasonable on the APE, you won't need to change it for 220 :-)
Induction kit, decat or sport cat, better flowing exhaust and remap will easily get you to your goal.
The APE and rolling roads thing is a bit of an urban myth, they don't seam to have problems on the continent that's for sure :-)

220 will be fine, rolling roading an Evo is not an issue, I've done mine loads, you just have to wait a minute or so for the TC systems to disable.

I've stuck mine in sport mode and have notified that the TC seems to go off, is that correct?

Our 1.4L MultiAir makes 250hp/250TQ at the flywheel, dyno tests at the wheels were 224/228 on a customers car that's 257/262 at the flywheel. no problems yet! Our Ultimate ECM really opens up the engine, as it was designed for the MultiAir, not the Tjet

Is this safe for a standard 1.4 MA engine to be churning out without any further improvements? And is it only north america this product is available?
