I've been looking aswell since getting my ape a few months ago and have been leaning towards the forge Motorsport option as it comes with the built in heat shield. However I'm sure for a cheaper alternative you could just slap a cone filter on the end of the intake pipe.

I've fitted a k&N cone to mine which was £90 total, pretty easy to fit and the sounds you get are pretty cool, turns peoples heads even more. I get a whistle then a whoosh when I lift off and once the exhaust is warmed up you can get a mix of induction noises and popping from the exhaust I'm sure if I was older I'd probably get bored of it but at the mo love it. Little heads up it's quite loud from inside the car so those early mornings when I wanted it to be silent got slightly annoying as you don't need many revs to get some turbo chatter but I'm used to it now and when I got my mate to drive it so I could hear what it sounds like coming past it's worth it :p.
Haven't heard the forge Motorsport one before but sounds like all the inductions make the same noises, may be wrong.

The k & n sounds amazing and it really brought out the chatter sound that I wanted aswell, got it remapped at amd and it's now pushing the 200bhp so I'm actually in love with this car now lol

I think the code for the one I got was 57i series kit and part number was 57-0679 it says its for a AGP but it fits the evo I think the size is exactly the same, it fitted perfect for mine. Just gotta do a load of unscrewing, the air filter comes out then u attach the cone from where the filter was attached and then just fit the bracket so it is secure and I just used a couple of cable ties to make it even more secure its pretty simple once you've done it, its a 10 min job.

Is the BMC full carbon cased air filter available for the APE? I looked on their website but it said the one listed wasnt for right hand drive cars. Im going to wait for my warranty to end first but I do like the look of that BMC filter.
