Front engine strut for Supersport ?
« on: April 07, 2014, 08:17:59 pm »
Hi guys was i posted about having the SS kit fitted yet i found that it would be way to expensive for me atm :(

However i may have found a solution for my desire to make my Abarth better!!

i was wondering is this would fit ? and if so I'm guessing it could be done at home or a garage

here is the link  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ultra-Racing-4-Points-Front-Strut-Brace-Bar-Fiat-Grande-Punto-1-4-8V-TW4-1148-/321080760609

thanks

You might have problems with that brace hitting the Abarth plastic engine cover. You can take off the cover but it will look rubbish. I dont think the Supersport handling and ride is that soft anyway. I think the car is pretty sorted as standard. It can be improved but its not urgent. I would enjoy your car and save up for some Konis.

I agree with FullMetalScorpion, a strut brace would not improve much as today's car's are very sturdy.

As above - a top brace won't help much but a lower brace might do some good...

I think Forge makes a couple
    Abarth Punto Supersport
Grigio Campovolo, Assetto Koni, Esseesse floating brakes, Skydome
Summer: Gunmetal 18" Esseesse with Bridgestone Potenza RE050A
Winter: Official Abarth Winter Kit (17" with Pirelli Sottozero 210)

And it looks a bit cheap to be honest

Thanks for the responses guys agree that I guess I was trying to find some way to improve it.
But can see that saving for the Koni or the 18 inch wheels is more beneficial

And I have to agree the car handles great took it for a blast down the A39 over Exmoor and loved every second !

    Cheers
