At a guess I would say its OEM as its just at a garage and they did not say a brand name, what have you used in the past and where from ?

My pad warning light has just come on as I parked on the drive.

No 'local' dealer can take on the job for two weeks (has to be a Saturday).

    A difficult question to answer....

Has anyone experience of how many miles I have before disaster strikes?

I do dual carriageways and will drive very carefully over the next two weeks ....

1000 miles seems to be 'web wisdom' for other marques - there's about 3mm+ left on each pad.

the front pads on the Brembos are one of the easiest DIY jobs ever, give it a try

remove wheel, knock pins through calipers with a hollow point punch, remove spring, remove pads, press pistons back into caliper with a flat piece of metal/wood, check fluid doesn't overflow from reservoir, insert new pads and put it all back together :thumb:

Thanks Lloyd, I am tempted. In my youth I did all my own repairs/servicing so have done everything from changing pads to engine & gearbox rebuilds. Age and a demanding job have made me a bit 'lazy' as far as car DIY concerned.

No excuse. Should give it a go.... ::)
