Hey guys,

Have any of you lowered you APE without buying the extrodiarily expensive SS kit? If so what did you opt for.

I would only get lowered springs as the standard shocks are fine, 30mm drop is enough as speed humps / car park ramps etc may become a problem if any lower.

I have a set of Eibachs on my GPS at the moment and have found them to be very good. What is the is drop over the standard.

Sorry for reviving this but it's relevant to what I want to know and saves making a new thread!

I'm assuming if I got the Eibach pro-kit springs and fitted them to my APE it would mean suspension would no longer be covered with the warranty?

And also off the back of that - is suspension even covered in the third year warranty?

I fitted Magneti Marelli springs on my APE. They took about a week to settle in but now the car looks the biz.
I have to negotiate some severve speed humps every day but have had no problems with these springs on if taken at a sensible speed. But I guess thats why they're there! I wouldn't like to say what it would be like with someone in the back though.

Do you know how much of a drop these gave you? :)

Apologies for the delay in replying to your queries but I have been having trouble getting any posts on.  TMC say that the drop of the MM springs is 50mm which seems about right.
    Pics to follow asap.

Thanks for these, looks great! Will definitely look into the MM springs if/when I sort my insurance out!

Do they affect the ride much?

The ride is pretty much the same. There is slightly less roll and of course slightly less travel but no harsher than the standard ones. I'm sure you will be delighted if you do have them fitted. They certainly improve the way the car "sits".
