Rolling Road
« on: August 05, 2012, 12:58:13 pm »
I know this has been discussed many times but I can't find any up to date posts.

My APE is with Forge Motorsport at the moment and I have explained that it can't be rolling roaded due to electronic diff. Has a way been found to get round this?

Thanks.

Dyno'd mine yesterday, you just run it for a bit on the rollers, switch the engine off, the run it a bit more the car will then suffer a number of electronics failures due to non running rear wheels at which point the car will rev freely and contrary to what has been said before Sport mode does still work.

Mine has always run like this, puts out good power  and torque too, so its not going into some failsafe mode.

    Stock -180bhp, 200lbs torque
    Stock SS - 195bhp, 218lbs torque

There is apparently a method to disable the electronics but I  have never needed it.

Brilliant thanks for this. I'll tell Forge.

So stock yours was running at 180 rather than 165?

Yup, verified my stock APE on multiple Dynos, lowest bhp 178 highest 182. Only managed one run with SS map as I was at a Dyno Day but with a number of cars there pulling stock or underperforming to expectations I was quite happy with my 195bhp :D

The torque wasn't as smooth and flat table top like the pre SS runs the suspicion being that the ignition might be upto something, couldn't get the Dyno to talk to the car via OBD and as it was a dyno day I wasn't paying for full service if you know what I mean so left it.

Likely to be charge temp related other cars were running ~60-70degC inlet there and you could see the the fuelling/igintion being altered accordingly, doubt mine was any different.

Seem to recall reading ignition pulling in the power on Evos from as little as 52C.

Are you having anything interesting done at Forge.

Think Daron at TMC knows the disable procedure, give him a buzz and share the info.

Thanks again. I've got Daron's mobile so I'll give him a shout.

I'm having an intercooler, induction, dump valve, pipes and anything else they feel they can develop for the APE. If you have any ideas of stuff they can look at whilst they are at it then let me know and I'll pass it on.
