Raspy Sounding Induction Kit?
« on: March 25, 2014, 05:54:37 pm »
At the mo I have the SS BMC Air filter on, but I would like to hear the engine roar a little more from inside. It does sound good and throaty from about 3500rpm to 6000rpm but I was wondering if there if an Induction Kit that would make it sound more raspy and sporty, but not sucking/whooshy sounds nor dump valve sounds, all of which I hate.

Cheers.

BMC CDA might give the desired response, anything open-cone will promote the things you don't like :)

    This one?: http://www.bmcairfilters.com/cda-carbon-dynamic-airbox/accdasp-44_d744_1.aspx

Am I right in saying that the alternative to open-cone is enclosed then and what I should be looking at? Or is there more?

Yeah, the theory is that an enclosed system will suppress the wastegate chatter where as an open cone will amplify into the surroundings, which is what you don't want..

I don't know for sure if a CDA will give the desired result or not...
